School Lunches

Our school lunch program is coordinated by Cori Capner.  This program depends on a large volunteer base which helps make the sandwiches; prepares the lunch bags and delivers them to the appropriate schools.  The program also depends on donation support from the Red Deer Food Bank, the Dixon Bethany Lutheran Church and many private and corporate donors who supply Cori with supplies necessary to make up the lunches. To date we are making between 280 – 300 sandwiches daily.

If you are interested in helping with the school lunch program following are a few suggestions:

1.  Volunteer your time to:
-make sadwiches

-make up lunch bags
-bake cookies (nut free)
-drive lunches to schools

2.  Donate food stuffs for the lunch bags such as:
-jucie boxes
-fruit bars
-cheese snacks
-apples and oranges
-any healthy snack that is nut free

3.  Donate your time to help Cori organize and coordinate for the next day’s lunches.

Please remember that we cannot accept anything that has any kind of nut ingredients such as peanut, coconut etc.  We pack a totally nutfree lunch due to allergy risks.
